A 192 GB archive of Rockstar Games development data has surfaced online, containing assets from a cancelled Liberty City expansion for Grand Theft Auto V and early, low-resolution files related to Grand Theft Auto VI.
The leak was reported on September 18, 2026, and was first brought to widespread attention by GTA modder TJGM on X, who shared findings from the archive as dataminers began sifting through its contents.
According to Insider Gaming, the files are not from a new security breach. They originate from the same 2022 hack that resulted in roughly 90 unreleased GTA VI development videos appearing online.
That breach was attributed to Arion Kurtaj, a member of the hacking group Lapsus$, who was 17 years old at the time. The additional data had circulated among a small group of people before spreading more widely in recent months.
The Archive’s Origins
The 2022 breach led to the public release of numerous GTA VI clips, which Rockstar Games acknowledged at the time as a network intrusion. Kurtaj was later sentenced to an indefinite hospital order in the United Kingdom.
The newly surfaced 192 GB archive contains a much broader range of material than the 2022 videos, including source code, development tools, and debug assets from both GTA V and early work on GTA VI.
Because of the archive’s size, dataminers are still uncovering new details, and community members expect more discoveries in the coming days.
What Was Found
The most prominent discovery is data pointing to a cancelled Liberty City expansion for GTA V. Files imported into the CodeWalker map editor revealed an outline of a potential Liberty City map that appears larger than the version featured in GTA IV.
TJGM shared the outline on X, stating that it was reconstructed from shoreline data contained in the files. ‘This isn’t a screenshot included in the leak,’ TJGM wrote. ‘This is data viewed in CodeWalker and then screenshotted after. It also includes many other Rockstar tools, source code and other things that are legit and easily verifiable.’
TJGM also shared a video of a file that appears to hold zone data for the cancelled expansion, which shows an outline larger than Liberty City from GTA IV when loaded into CodeWalker.
There is no evidence that this Liberty City content will be used in GTA VI, though some fans have speculated about a possible connection.
The archive also contains assets from the cancelled Agent Trevor single-player DLC for GTA V. X user affmal shared that the leak includes the order of the missions, their names, and the Stems OST for the missions.
Other discovered assets from the Agent Trevor DLC include a spaceship location, spacesuits, a large underground area beneath a mansion, and mission names such as ‘True Lies,’ ‘Jetpack,’ ‘Satellites,’ and ‘Defend Mansion.’
Cut dialogue was also found, including an alternate version of GTA V’s Option A ending in which Trevor crashes into a tank of liquid nitrogen, freezes, and shatters. Dialogue between GTA IV character Brucie Kibbutz and Franklin was also uncovered.
Additional findings include cut GTA V beta vehicles, such as a combine harvester, an early police car, a crane, and an EOD bomb-disposal robot.
Early GTA VI map assets were discovered in the archive, but they are described as very low-quality renders. The images appear to show the map’s fundamental layout, with some locations resembling Vice City, an airport, stadium, and docks, though these assets are from much earlier development and are not representative of the final game.
Rockstar’s Response
Rockstar Games has not publicly acknowledged the archive or its contents. The company has not issued a statement regarding the leak.
GTA VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC release planned for a later date.
